An invitation to Wajarri Members

This competition is open to artists and creative people of all ages who are Wajarri members.
This includes our junior members. We encourage entrants to develop their artwork design based on conversations and interactions with their Elders.

The winner of the first prize will be offered a $3000 commission to reproduce their artwork in a much larger size (up to 2m x 2m) to be displayed permanently in the Board/Training room at the new Wajarri Community Office. This commission will include the art materials required. The successful artist will enter into a contract agreement with WYAC stating that the original artwork and design copyright is the property of WYAC along with a royalty free license for the artwork to be used in future promotions.

Prizes:
First Prize – $500
Runner-up – $300
Youth Prize (aged under 10 years) – $500
Youth Prize (aged 10 – 17 years years) – $500

We pay our respects to Wajarri Elders past and present and thank the community for allowing us to serve them as directors of Winja Wajarri Barna Limited. We are excited by the opportunity to deliver the programs set out in this website and to act as good custodians of Wajarri community assets. As Directors we aim to achieve the highest standards of governance  and intend to work with our member, Wajarri Yamaji Aboriginal Corporation, to deliver on our joint mission “Engaging, empowering and investing in Wajarri Yamaji Peoples’ future.”
